Does hiring apprentices mean more work or State oversight?

No. The reporting and oversight are handled by the NYMAP staff and the apprentices themselves.

What are the benefits for the employer?

Employers who work with NYMAP will have access to a pipeline of qualified and skilled mechanics and be able to save time and money on employee search and HR onboarding. Pre-screened and pre-trained apprentices mean increased productivity, reduced turnover, and improved quality of work.

How is the apprenticeship training provided?

Training is provided by the Bronx Community College, CUNY’s Center for Automotive Technology, which is a newly rebuilt cutting-edge facility staffed by senior faculty adept at hands-on and blended training formats. How soon can I hire?

NYMAP has our main recruitment sessions in late Spring and Fall. However, through a network of partnerships, we can find and prepare qualified applicants throughout the year.
